Bakari Atiba, Group Facilitator,Curriculum Developer

Bakari Atiba has served as an active teacher, advisor, mentor, and self-empowerment coach to African-American men, women, and youth from various backgrounds for 16 years. He is a facilitator and curriculum developer at Brothers Helping Brothers, who has a passion for working with both men and youth. He holds an Associates of Arts degree with an emphasis in Applied Sociology from Anne Arundel Community College. Also, he holds certifications in non-violent conflict resolution and mediation.

He has created multiple workshops and modules designed to assist young men and women with transitioning through different phases of education, character development, and life crisis. He initially began his youth outreach 16 years ago as a counselor with “Reasoned Straight,” a program that offers counseling and crime prevention for at-risk youth from Baltimore and surrounding counties. Bakari is committed to assisting our youth in challenging their beliefs, values, and worldview in a manner that allows for healing and empowerment.
